As the page prints it
Two guest lines that stop mid-sentence
The English page shows two guest lines under a reviews widget. Both are cut off with an ellipsis. Neither line has a name, a date, or a score beside it.
The first line, as far as it goes
The first line reads: The location, alongside exceptionally friendly staff, make this place perfect for anyone exploring Berlin for a few days. The breakfast is excellent too, there are bikes for hire, this place is an absolute, and then it stops. Absolute is not followed by a noun in the file. The ellipsis is the page's, and it is not a cue to guess the missing word.
What the line does state is a location, friendly staff, a stay of a few days, excellent breakfast, and bikes for hire. A few days is not the seven-day offer title. Breakfast is not given a time or a menu. Bikes for hire is a different phrase from the features box's Bycicle rental. The features note keeps the box spelling. This line keeps bikes for hire. The page does not say they are the same bicycles, and it does not say they are different.
No staff name appears. Exceptionally friendly is the whole description of the staff. The English page does not attach the line to a room number or a month.
The second line, and the word complain
The second line reads: This hotel is a gem, it's more like an old school no frills environment. The staff is excellent, it is close to everything, it had wifi and free breakfast. The price is great. I've seen reviews that complain, and then it stops. Complain is the last word. The file does not say what the other reviews complain about. Completing the complaint would invent the objection.
Gem, old school, and no frills are the guest's words for the house. They are not in the welcome. The welcome says centrally located and directly opposite the gallery. Close to everything is this line's version of central, still without a distance. Wifi and free breakfast are stated as things the stay had. Free breakfast here is the guest's claim. It is not a sentence in the features box, and it is not Kostenfreies Storno. Storno is about cancellation. Breakfast is about a meal. The offer note keeps that distinction.
The price is great states no currency and no amount. It sits on a page whose offer cards have empty price spans and whose best-rate box is empty. Great does not fill those spans. The form note records the empty box. This line records the adjective.
No names and no scores
The widget does not print a reviewer name, a country, a date, or a star count next to either line. View All is the only extra control, and it points at guest-reviews.html. That file is not in the archive. The two lines are the whole of the guest text this archive holds. A third review is not hiding in the markup that was read.
The class names say slideshow and guest reviews. A slideshow of two items is what the list contains. Previous and next controls are empty list items. They do not add words. The pager is an empty span.
Quoting the lines in full, including the break, is the honest use. Smoothing them into complete testimonials would erase the ellipsis, which is the most important fact about them. They are fragments.
Previous and next are empty controls. They do not reveal a third line.
A slideshow class with two items does not become a rating. No star count is printed next to either fragment.
The pager span is empty as well.
What the lines mention that the welcome does not
Breakfast, wifi, bikes for hire, no frills, and a price called great are all absent from the welcome paragraphs. The welcome has the gallery, the wall, the station, and the arena. The lines have none of those proper names. A reader cannot tell from the lines alone that the gallery is opposite the house. The lines say location and close to everything, and stop.
Staff appears in both lines, friendly in the first and excellent in the second. The page does not give a reception hour to go with the praise. The phone line is still empty, as the address note says. Friendly staff and a blank phone field are both printed. One does not cancel the other.
A few days in the first line is the only duration a guest states. The offer titles state seven days, Monday to Friday, and Sunday. The page does not say the first guest took one of those offers. The sentences are in different columns.
Wifi is spelled in the second line as wifi. The welcome never uses the word.
View All, and the file that is missing
View All is an uppercase link under the lines. Its address is guest-reviews.html under the English path. Because that address is not in the URL list, the two fragments cannot be checked against a longer original on this domain. The ellipsis might, on a missing page, have been a longer quote. This archive does not have that longer quote. The note stops where the English page stops.
The menu also lists Guest Reviews in the footer. That is the same missing destination. The menu note lists it with the other labels whose files are absent. The widget is the exception: some of the words survived on the home English page even though the destination file did not.
Nothing in the widget says the lines were verified, translated, or dated. They are simply the two paragraphs in the list. Treating them as a rating average would require a number the widget does not print.
The footer uses the same Guest Reviews label. The widget is where the two fragments still sit.
Questions
How many guest lines are on the page?
Two. Both end in an ellipsis. Neither has a name or a score.
What does the second line say about price?
The price is great. It does not say how many euros. The offer cards beside it have empty price spans.
Where does View All point?
To guest-reviews.html. That file is not in this archive. The two lines on the English page are the guest text that remains.
